Cassia Tora is popularly known as Foetid Cassia, Sickle Senna, Tora Wild Senna, Coffee Pod, Sickle Pod, Chakvad, Tovara and Ringworm plant. Found in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh (India) it is a 30 to 90 cm long annual foiled herb. It has 10 cm long pinnate leaves, each leaf having three pairs of leaflets which are ovate, opposite, oblique and oblong at the base. The flowers are yellow in colour and have five petals. Each petal has a diameter of about half an inch. The flowers are bearded in the leaves’ axel.
