Although talks were being raised about the vaccine for prevention of Swine Flu, its not totally available and tested well. So there are many other manual ways to prevent and stay away from the swine flu virus. The disease is preventable, and here are a few ways with which you can prevent Swine Flu from infecting you -

Tissue paper usage while coughing or sneezing

When you are coughing or sneezing, you probably are down with cold, and one of the reasons behind this can be Swine flu. Prevent the spread of this by using a tissue or handkerchief while coughing or sneezing. And after its usage, properly dump it in your dustbin and keep it isolated.

Use a Face mask

The big disadvantage of Swine flu is its air-spreading nature. It can easily enter your body when you take in air through nose or mouth. So wearing a face mask is one of the best ways to let only pure air in, with the micro-organisms not allowed to pass through the mask. And these masks available at surgical stores etc. are pre-sterilized and safer to use, than tissue papers to keep your unclean hands on it always to cover the mouse and nose.

Wash hands with soap and warm water

Wash your hands with soap and warm water, to scrape off any kind of micro-organism from the skin. As you touch your hands in every unclean areas of the house or when you go out, washing hands is better as anytime you can touch the hands near your mouth, eyes etc.

Don’t get close to ill patients

If you see any ill patients at your friends place, or at your home, try to maintain at least 1 meter distance from them as the air is contaminated and can cause the disease to you too. Try to avoid wishes through hugs, kisses or hand shakes.

There are still issues going on with the usage of face mask over handkerchief, but we suggest you to use the face mask which is many times safer than the latter.

Again, Swine Flu is a preventable disease and your effort to keep yourself safe can save you. Don’t get panicked with the news of the disease, just fight against it.
